 V Deutsch (de)Was darüber befindet, ist das Gewissen, in das letztlich alle Gedanken, Gefühle und Willensimpulse eingehen und von dem alle Handlungen ihre besondere moralisch-ethische Prägung erhalten. Im älteren Bauerntum galt der Satz «Der Tritt des Bauern düngt». Man lief zügelhaltend hinter dem Pflug her oder als Sämann über das Feld oder im sonntäglichen Rundgang über die Felder. So wahr dieser Satz früher war, so wahr ist er in Metamorphose heute. Einst war aus dem volkstümlichen Erleben noch unmittelbar instinktive Erfahrung, was die Erde dem über sie Schreitenden sagt, was aus den Stimmungen aus der Umgebung spricht, was der Boden ein-, was er ausatmet. Man wusste dann, was folgerichtig als Nächstes zu tun ist. Heute muss die Sicherheit, «im richtigen Augenblick das Richtige richtig zu tun», aus der Kraft der Bewusstseinsseele neu erworben werden. Beim Schreiten über den Acker, etwa nach getaner Arbeit – man ist erfüllt von den vielen Eindrücken des Tages –, fühlt man eine aus unbekannten Seelentiefen hervortretende Sicherheit, die nicht dem sinnesgebundenen Denken entspringt. Aus dem Empfinden der Ganzheit des Hofes und aller seiner aktuellen Lebensbezüge weiß man plötzlich, was anderen Tages zu tun ist – sei es die Aufmerksamkeit auf Bereiche des Hofes zu lenken, die aus dem Blick geraten sind, oder sei es, dass diese oder jene Kultur dringend einer Pflegebehandlung bedarf, wie Striegeln oder eine Präparate-Spritzung. Intuitionen stellen sich ein, die aus der Willenssphäre dumpf ahnend ins Bewusstsein heraufleuchten. Man weiß sich in einem geistlebendigen Strom vom Gestern zum Heute und vom Heute zum Morgen stehend.  V Englisch (en)What governs this is conscience, into which all thoughts, feelings and impulses of will ultimately flow, and from which all actions receive their particular moral-ethical stamp. In the older peasant culture the saying held: «The tread of the farmer fertilises.» One walked behind the plough holding the reins, or as a sower across the field, or in the Sunday round across the fields. As true as that saying once was, it is equally true today — in metamorphosis. Once it was still immediate instinctive experience, drawn from folk-knowing, what the earth says to the one who treads upon it, what speaks from the moods of the surroundings, what the soil breathes in, what it breathes out. One knew then what followed as the right next thing to do. Today, the certainty of «doing the right thing rightly at the right moment» must be newly won from the force of the consciousness soul. While walking across the field — after a day's work, say, filled as one is with the many impressions of the day — one feels a certainty arising from unknown depths of soul, not born of sense-bound thinking. Out of the felt wholeness of the farm and all its present living connections, one suddenly knows what is to be done the following day — whether to turn one's attention to areas of the farm that have fallen out of sight, or whether this or that crop urgently requires a treatment of care, such as harrowing or a preparation spray. Intuitions present themselves, rising dimly into consciousness from the sphere of the will. One knows oneself standing in a spirit-living stream from yesterday to today and from today to tomorrow. Al caminar por el campo, digamos al término de la jornada de trabajo —pleno uno de las múltiples impresiones del día—, se percibe una seguridad que emerge de desconocidas profundidades del alma y que no brota del pensar ligado a los sentidos. Desde el sentir de la integridad de la granja y de todos sus nexos vitales actuales, se sabe de repente qué es lo que hay que hacer al día siguiente —ya sea dirigir la atención hacia ámbitos de la granja que han quedado fuera del campo de visión, o bien que tal o cual cultivo requiere con urgencia de una labor de cuidado, como un pase de rastra deshierbadora o una pulverización de preparados. Se presentan Intuiciones que ascienden desde la esfera de la voluntad, sordamente presintientes, hasta iluminar la conciencia. Uno se sabe de pie en una corriente viva de espíritu que va del ayer al hoy y del hoy al mañana.
