Vztažen k trojčlennosti duševních schopností člověka prožíváme jej dnes v myšlení především jako předvídavou idej, v cítění jako radostně-čilý impuls a ve vůli jako duchem nesoucí iniciativní sílu. Na cestách této trojnosti uchopuje se člověk v duchovním naplnění svého bytí jako Já a dělá z sebe iniciátora a nositele vývoje do budoucnosti.  V Deutsch (de)Einst lebte das Prinzip der Entwicklung instinktiv träumend, verborgen in den Quellen der Urweisheit, als wirksame Kraft geistiger Führung in der Menschheit. Im Fortschreiten des Erwachens zum Selbstbewusstsein erlosch dieses Erbe. Sehr jung noch, erst in der Zeit des deutschen Idealismus, in den Forschungen eines Charles Darwins (1809–1882) und Ernst Haeckels (1834– 1919) und voll umfänglich in der anthroposophischen Geisteswissenschaft, taucht das Entwicklungsprinzip auf neue Art im Denken auf. Bezogen auf die Dreigliederung der menschlichen Seelenfähigkeiten erleben wir das heute im Denken vor allem als vorausschauende Idee, im Fühlen als freudig-regsamen Impuls und im Wollen als geistgetragene Initiativkraft. Related to the threefoldness of the human soul faculties, we experience this today in thinking above all as a forward-looking idea, in feeling as a joyfully stirring impulse, and in willing as a spirit-borne force of initiative. On the paths of this threefoldness the human being grasps himself, in spiritual fulfilment of his being, as the I — and makes himself the initiator and bearer of development into the future. In his striving toward freedom he lives forth the principle of development.

Referido a la triplicidad de las facultades anímicas del ser humano, lo vivimos hoy en el pensar ante todo como idea prospectiva, en el sentir como impulso gozoso y vivaz, y en el querer como fuerza de iniciativa portada por el espíritu. Por los caminos de esta triplicidad, el ser humano se aprehende — en la plena realización espiritual de su ser — como Yo, y se convierte en iniciador y portador del desarrollo hacia el futuro. Très jeune encore, seulement à l'époque de l'idéalisme allemand, dans les recherches de Charles Darwin (1809–1882) et d'Ernst Haeckel (1834–1919), et pleinement dans la science de l'esprit anthroposophique, le principe du développement surgit d'une façon nouvelle dans le penser. Rapporté à la triple organisation des facultés de l'âme humaine, nous le vivons aujourd'hui dans le penser avant tout comme idée prospective, dans le sentir comme impulsion joyeusement-active, et dans le vouloir comme force d'initiative portée par l'esprit. W postępującym przebudzeniu ku samoświadomości to dziedzictwo wygasło. Bardzo młode jeszcze, dopiero w czasach niemieckiego idealizmu, w badaniach Charlesa Darwina (1809–1882) i Ernsta Haeckla (1834–1919) i w pełnym zakresie w antropozoficznej nauce o duchu, zasada rozwoju pojawia się w nowy sposób w myśleniu. W odniesieniu do trójczłonowości ludzkich władz duszy przeżywamy to dziś w myśleniu przede wszystkim jako idę wybiegającą naprzód, w czuciu jako radośnie-ruchliwy impuls, w woli jako siłę inicjatywy niesioną przez ducha. Na drogach tej trójni człowiek ujmuje siebie w duchowym wypełnieniu swej istoty jako Ja i czyni się inicjatorem i nosicielem rozwoju w przyszłość. W swym dążeniu do wolności darzycia-życiem przeżywa zasadę rozwoju.
