The origins of agriculture go far back into prehistoric times. In those early times, humanity still lived in entirely different states of consciousness and earthly conditions. Rudolf Steiner's descriptions of these early states of the evolution of man and the Earth provide insight into this. In the times of the last continental shaping and the great mountain formations of the Earth, the so-called «Atlantean age», there lived a humanity that did not yet think in concepts, but that, in a pronounced, spiritually inspired instinctive life, participated in the living weaving of nature and of the creative spirit, and that was able to preserve what it thus experienced with almost unlimited powers of memory.
