stream of experience of deeds accomplished — this blood arrives as venous blood-stream at the centre. There a synthesis is enacted, a heart-feeling rising from the unconscious up into consciousness. The venous blood transforms and renews itself in the heart — through the breathing of the lungs — into the arterial blood-stream, which streaming outward impels toward new activity. So too on the level of the plant: the stinging nettle "blossoms" from its middle — the leaf — out to the periphery of the whole plant. The earth-bound substances, potassium, calcium and iron, undergo their «Heraufläuterung» ("upward purification"), their etherization, not first in the final state of full blooming, of dying into form — rather the astral forces work through sulphur in such a manner that they impress the blossoming process upon the whole growth-event and keep it in flow. Through this the stinging nettle fulfils «ihre großartige Innenwirkung» ("its magnificent inward working"), which makes it «ähnlich demjenigen [macht], was das Herz im menschlichen Organismus ist» ("akin to what the heart is in the human organism").
