In view of the relationship of the peritoneum to the manifold autonomous activities of the organs of the abdominal cavity — each of which it sheathes individually — the question arises as to which part of it comes into consideration for the preparation. In his course for farmers, Rudolf Steiner names the bovine mesentery: «The yellow dandelion heads are gathered, allowed to wilt a little, pressed together, sewn into bovine mesentery.»[1] To the question of what is meant by bovine mesentery, the answer follows: «What is meant is the peritoneum. As far as I know, the mesentery is understood to be the peritoneum.»[2]
