In the first preparation step, the flower heads — depending on the degree of drying — are lightly moistened with an extract of dandelion leaves, pressed gently together, wrapped on all sides with mesentery flaps, and tied into a small packet with hemp twine (no synthetic cord). As an «Alternativ» (alternative) to the mesentery, the greater omentum (Omentum majus) is frequently preferred for its easier handling; it is more expansive in surface and as a rule less fatty. It attaches at the stomach and otherwise has no direct connection to the coil of intestines.
