This new formation is an originary crystallization process, a becoming-earth out of the living primordial state of the colloidal-aqueous — a half-living substance. The amorphous mass of soil colloids forms itself anew. The substances arrange themselves, with the intercalation of metal bases, into the strict geometry of the crystal lattice. The forces that bring about this ordering are customarily sought in the properties of the substances themselves. But how is it possible that certain crystals — quartz, for instance — can exhibit a geographically dependent habit, while others, such as pyrite, can assume entirely different modifications of crystal form at identical material composition? The forces that bring this about come from outside the physical-earthly; they are the formative forces already named — extra-spatial and extra-temporal, out of the extra-planetary cosmos — to whose manifestation the individual substance-elements have, in accordance with their materially bound properties, each a specific relation in space and time.
