Likewise, sulphur is an image of the being of Lucifer, and phosphorus maps ahrimanic forces. Standing in the middle between these two polar adversary-powers is Christ as the representative of humanity, who, holding the balance between these powers of being, points the way for humanity into the future. In the 'agricultural individuality' this middle is laid out as the soil-diaphragm. It is henceforth placed in the hands of the human being to bring this life-germ of the middle to development.»
