This punctiform way of thinking in terms of external cause-and-effect relationships stands in polar opposition to the finding of spiritual-scientific research, which addresses «the secrets of manuring» as «extraordinarily real secrets».[1] «Certainly, it [manuring; note by the author] is done instinctively out of tradition from ancient times. But the essential nature of manuring — that, today, virtually no one actually understands», «except those who are able to know this out of the spiritual».[2] The three chapters that follow are an attempt to lay a foundation of understanding for this radical statement. In the subsequent account of the stages of manuring, the secret of the essential nature of manuring may become something more revealed.
